How To Use Medical Bandages Correctly?

1. Put cotton sleeves or cotton rolls on the action pad at the bandaged area. In thin and bony areas, you can wrap more cotton sleeves or cotton rolls. It is best to wear protective gloves.

2. Unpack the bandage, take it out and place it in indoor water at 68-77°F, 20-25°C for 1-2 seconds, gently squeeze the bandage to remove the excess moisture contained in it.

3. The bandage needs to be wound into a spiral. Each circle overlaps 1/2 or 1/3 of the width of the bandage, wrap it tightly but not too hard, the shaping is completed at this time, and the polymer bandage must be cured for the last 30 seconds to ensure that the shaping surface does not move.

 4. The curing and forming time of the polymer (orthopedic synthesis) bandage is about 3-5 minutes (depending on the soaking time and soaking temperature of the bandage). You can feel the support after 20 minutes.

3-4 layers of bandages are enough for non-load-bearing parts, and 4-5 layers of polymer (orthopedic synthetic) bandages can be wrapped around the load-bearing parts. For good support and adhesion, smooth the bandage with a glove dipped in water for better results.
