1. Pre drying and solidification care for gypsum: It is prohibited to carry, support or compress with fingers, and to increase room temperature and strengthen ventilation to accelerate gypsum drying and solidification;
2. Protection of gypsum cleanliness: The gypsum window should be of appropriate size to prevent feces from contaminating the gypsum.
3. Observe blood circulation and theology, collect and organize scriptures on the education website. Function: Raise the affected limb, observe the color, temperature, sensation, and movement of the distal limb, such as pain, pallor, coldness, cyanosis, numbness, and be alert to tight plaster. Report to the doctor in a timely manner to prevent the occurrence of osteofascial compartment syndrome.
4. Prevention and care of complications
(1) Pressure sore: Add a pad to the bone protrusion before applying plaster. It is strictly prohibited to press the fingertips while using the palm to support the plaster. If there is persistent pain in the area, it is prohibited to fill the plaster. If necessary, replace the plaster.
(2) Prevention of loss of use osteoporosis and joint stiffness: Strengthen functional exercise.
(3) Purulent dermatitis.
(4) Osteofacial compartment syndrome: Fracture of the forearm or lower leg can lead to osteofascial compartment syndrome due to swelling, bleeding, and increased pressure in the compartment; If the plaster limb is tightly bandaged, closely observe, promptly detect, and quickly relieve pressure;
(5) Gypsum syndrome: caused by large plaster or tight dressing, difficulty breathing, eating, chest tightness, abdominal distension, plaster dressing with space, not eating too much, upper abdominal window opening to prevent occurrence.
5. Functional exercise: It should be carried out in stages, gradually and actively.
